My Glitter themed birthday (and a how-to for you!)

1. Sparkly drinks. 2. Sparkly cupcakes. 3. Full sparkly outfit. 4. Sparkly Make-up. 5. Sparkly Primark boots!

Anyone who has known me say, all of one week, will know that I am rather large on themed parties. They will probably also know that I am a magpie when it comes to glitter, sparkles and other over the top girly things.

It was only a matter of time before I threw a glitter themed party.

When people first got their invites "what is a glitter party?" was a common question and I have to admit I wasn't really sure what a glitter party was either. I just really knew I wanted one. Google hadn't really hit up any results so I realised I was creating ideas from scratch.

In the end it was:

Everyone comes in glitter/sequins/matellics/something shimmery
Admittedly most of the boys came matte, but all my girls were there in glittery tops, shorts and belts. I like fancy dress, and I liked themes, so my birthdays always have dress codes.

Bought some Gladshlagger.
Which I looked for in about four different shops. I have only had it once in my life before and forgot how potent it was. I had bought all the nessary ingredients for glitter bombs (shot glasses, tumblr, goldshallger and energy drink) but pussied out after mixing it with just apple juice made me feel all wooooooaaaahhh.

Made sparkly (vegan) cupcakes.
Something else people usually pick up on quickly about me is that I love a cupcake. Not just that I like to eat them but also that I have oven gloves covered in them. So this was non-optional, even if it did mean I needed to kit out my new kitchen in less than a month ready for my birthday. I've been experimenting with egg replacer loads recently and the cake was all vegan - though I couldn't find soya double cream alternative in time (vegan Glaswegians help me out?) so the icing was cow-produced.

Yay! Glitter party! Now tell me about you outfit, fashion blogger!
My outfit was split between New Look and Primark, which both have some amazing glitter collections! New Look especially but as I had already picked up my gold bralet from Primark I had to work with that. My shirt and bralet along with the glittery boots are Primark. Whereas my skirt is New Look (where I took about five into the changing room!). Make-up wise I am wearing a fav glitter polish from Deborah Lippman and my eyelashes were brand new ones from No7.

Ideas I turned down:

Glitter pong
I quite like my landlord, and so far they like me.

Decking the flat in glitter
As above.

Playing Mariah Carey Glitter on the background
Why did I even think this?

Lots and lots of glitter love!
